Wilcox Historical Society Day Trip to Demopolis!

The Wilcox Historical Society invites members and friends to join us for a special day trip on January 28th to Demopolis to tour three of Alabama’s most significant historic homes: Gaineswood, Lyon Hall, and Bluff Hall. This guided excursion offers a wonderful opportunity to experience outstanding examples of 19th-century architecture while enjoying fellowship with fellow history enthusiasts.

Tour Schedule

  • 10:00 a.m. – Tour of Gaineswood (c. 1843–1861)
  • 11:45 a.m. – Luncheon followed by tour at Lyon Hall (c. 1853)
  • 2:00 p.m. – Tour of Bluff Hall (c. 1832)
  • 3:30 p.m. – Depart Demopolis for Wilcox County

Lunch Menu: Shrimp & Grits, Hot Ham & Swiss Roll, Green Salad with Strawberries, Cheese Straws, Sweet Bite, Iced Tea or Water

Cost

$50 per person, which includes luncheon, does not include transportation
